Could not be more excited to share with all of you what was months in the making. For awhile now, I’ve wanted to have a promo video made. More than just a beautiful collaboration on art and storytelling, I wanted my future clients to have a glimpse into my life and understand why I love documenting a wedding day.

For the film, I started by envisioning a shoot that brought to life everything I love about photography: a beautiful landscape with muted earth tones, free-spiritedness and adventure, joy and movement, romance and chivalry, beautiful golden light and an undeniable love between two people. The visuals – that for me was the easy part. But putting into words why I love photography, and why I feel so grateful to have found this calling, I found to be nearly impossible. After weeks of brainstorming, bedtime talks with my husband, finding inspiration in music and art, and lots of prayer, I realized what I value most about this calling is witnessing and documenting one of the biggest decisions a person will make in their lifetime: choosing the person to spend the rest of their life with. When that decision is made wholeheartedly, acknowledging that marriage is more than a beautiful wedding day but a daily choice, that for me is the start of a special kind of love in this world, and something I’ll forever stand behind.
